Are you looking for a rewarding experience in event management?  Do you want to be part of a dynamic team of youth leaders to spearhead a successful youth-led festival?

 

We are looking for people who are passionate about the arts, outgoing, and willing to attend public events. If you are a student or have a passion and interest in any of these fields, joining the StArt YPA is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and get your volunteer hours!

Positions

 

Festival Manager Assistant

Work with the Communication and Outreach Teams to recruit and select youth participants, volunteers, and community members to the festival and workshops. Some fundraising and outreach efforts are required. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in event planning and management, or who wants to develop strong leadership skills and community development.

 

Community Outreach Coordinator

This is a rewarding position for someone who is active in the community and loves to interact with people. The Community Outreach Coordinator optimises existing relationships and fosters new relationships with peers, community members and various media outlets. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in community development and arts engagement.

 

Budget Manager

If you enjoy crunching numbers and tracking expenses this would be a great position for you. Reporting to the Director, the Budget Manager will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the festival’s budget.

 

Social Media Coordinator Assistant

Are you an influencer? Help spread the StArt YPA message to friends, family and community at large. Be part of the Communication team to execute a social media campaign that celebrates arts in the community. This position is ideal for someone who is active in the social media space such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and who is comfortable using hashtags and Hootsuite.

 

Marketing and Development Manager 

This role is ideal for someone who is interested in all aspects of marketing, development, fundraising and project management. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive working relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors and community relations.

 

Volunteers Coordinator Assistant

Work closely with the team to organize, schedule and interact with prospective volunteers. This position is great for peer mentors who understand and support the needs of their peers in the team environment. This role provides a great leadership opportunity to connect with other like-minded volunteers to assist with setup, takedown, and festival activities

 

Programming Assistant

Manage and provide ongoing support to teachers leading up to the festival day. The Programming Assistant will also work with the Lead Gallery Coordinator to assist with the set up of the art gallery during festival week. Prior knowledge of the arts is an asset. If you enjoy the challenge of multi-tasking to ensure programming runs smoothly, be sure to apply for this opportunity.

Requirements

 

As a team member, you will attend meetings twice a month in the Scarborough Village area.

 

You will also dedicate 4 - 6 hours a week towards completing your tasks.
