Are you passionate about the arts? Interested in how a non-profit works? Looking to build project management skills while networking with like-minded people to advocate for the arts in Scarborough.  


StArt YPA wants individuals that are committed to producing an annual festival and various workshops aimed at educating and showcasing the work of emerging young artists in the Scarborough community. 


We are looking for individuals that have any of the following skills: event management, leadership, design, communication, grant writing, research, finance, and creative thinking.

All positions are volunteer-based with an honorarium provided.

Program Coordinator

Plans and coordinates programs, workshops and events that are needed in Scarborough. Proposes programs and events that align with the StArt YPA mission and goals to the team. Evaluates and supervises programs 

Program Assistant

Works with the Event and Program Coordinator in the planning and execution of workshops and events. Will also help with program evaluation and report creation.

Marketing and Communications Lead

Responsible for developing strategies for our social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive working relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors and community relations.

Social Media Assistant

Will assist the Marketing and Communication Manager in copywriting official documents, record keeping and taking minutes at meetings. You are also responsible for creating copy and posting content on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.


If you enjoy crunching numbers and tracking expenses this would be a great position for you. Reporting to the Director, the Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the festival’s budget, research upcoming grants and collecting donations.


Provide team with statistics, demographics, and social issues that pertain to Scarborough. Look into possible grants and sponsorship opportunities.  


Works with Director on editing, writing and acquiring government and corporate grants. Write letters for donations, press releases and corporate sponsorships. Edits copy of social media and marketing.

Graphic Designer

If you have experience in digital design software creating attractive flyers and promotional items and have the technical and creative skills to attract people to take action, this role is for you.
